Bhojpur Shiva Temple
Founded by the legendary polymath ruler Raja Bhoj in the 11th century, the Bhojeshwar Temple stands atop a commanding hill overlooking the Betwa river. Revered as the "Somnath of the East", the temple houses a magnificent 7.5-foot monolithic Shiva lingam set upon an expansive 20-foot platform. The temple preserves ancient architectural drawings carved directly on the surrounding rocks.
